Coverage

For homeowners, the plans start with basic coverage for all your kitchen appliances. Their middle tier coverage adds laundry appliances, heating and cooling systems, and more to the list of covered items. If you want the most coverage, then you’ll want to get the Complete Home plan. With that, you get all the protection provided at the lower levels, plus coverage for your plumbing and electrical components.

Real estate agents can select between several plans designed for their clients who are buying or selling their properties. In most states, the seller coverage is complimentary. The buyer coverage gives homebuyers a full 12 months of protection to help their first year of homeownership go smoothly. With either type of plan, the coverage may apply to all appliances and systems in the home, plus whatever add-ons are selected.

The offered add-ons include:

    • Additional refrigerators and freezers
    • Pre-season tune ups for HVAC equipment
    • Swimming pools and spas
    • Well pumps and water softeners
    • Septic systems

Pricing & Onboarding

Across all their service levels, 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty provides repair or replacement of all covered equipment and structures. You are eligible to get up to $25,000 worth of service every contract period.

For their basic homeowner plan, you can expect to pay $20 per month and the premiums go up from there, especially if you have add-ons included in your plan. Furthermore, you have to pay a service call fee of up to $125 each time you need a contractor to come out to your home.

When you sign up, you get one year of coverage. You’re able to make changes to your plan or add-ons within the first 30 days after signing up. After that, you’re stuck with your selected coverage type and level for 12 months unless you cancel. You can cancel anytime, however. All you have to do is give them a call.

If you want to continue the coverage once your contract nears its expiration, you’ll just need to log into your account and renew it before the year is up. You can also make changes to your plan at that time or within 30 days afterward.

Although they are committed to quality service, this home warranty company does not have a 100% satisfaction guarantee. The contractors are expected to respond to service requests in a timely manner and complete the work as expected or they will be removed from their network.

Contractors and Service

There are more than 6,000 contractors enrolled in the 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty network. The company fully vets each repair professional to ensure their clients get the highest quality of service at every visit.

Beyond that, they monitor the performance of their contractors by having customers fill out a quality score form. Only contractors who complete the repairs or replacement to the customers’ satisfaction and in a timely manner stay on as preferred service providers.

They do not let you select your own contractor unless your area is not covered by someone in their network. Only then, they will let you call a licensed and insured professional for a quote. Once the contractor submits their bid, the warranty company will review it and issue authorization that lets them proceed with the repairs.

Once you submit a service request, you can expect to have the work done within five days. You’ll need to pay the service fee of up to $125 at that time plus be up to date on your monthly premium payments.

In certain circumstances, they can send someone out within 24 hours to handle emergency repairs. To qualify, the problem must be an imminent health and safety threat or potentially cause additional damage if left unrepaired.

Bottom Line

When you go with 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty, you join over six million satisfied customers in protecting their homes and getting true peace of mind. While it could take a little time to establish your ideal coverage levels, it’s well worth the effort. Once you’re set up, it’s just a matter of paying your premiums and renewing your annual contract to enjoy years of protection.
