Service Fees

Each time a homeowner requests service, the homeowner is required to pay a service fee which goes directly to the contractor. Service fees range from $75 - $125. The amount of the service fee is determined by which plan the homeowner chooses.

Contracts and Guarantees

There is no contract—the homeowner can cancel anytime.

    • If the homeowner cancels during the waiting period, there will be a refund forthcoming.
    • If the homeowner cancels after the waiting period, then they will get a prorated refund based on the unused months less any outstanding claim costs or service fees apply. There may also be a $75 cancellation fee.

AFC guarantees the cost of parts and labor on repairs for the life of the plan, which is one of the longest workmanship guarantees in the home protection industry.

Contractors & Service

Finding a Contractor

Unlike many other home warranty providers, AFC’s customers can choose who makes their repairs. As long as the technician is licensed and insured, the AFC would be happy to work with them.

If an AFC customer cannot find their own technician, or if they’d rather someone choose for them, the AFC can pull from their nationwide team of skilled contractors to get the job done.

Getting a Contractor to Your Home

AFC has an extensive network of local, licensed contractors available to provide professional service in a timely manner. To get service, all the homeowner needs to do is to call the company’s toll-free number, 24/7. Alternatively, service requests can be made online through the company website.

The time it takes to receive service depends on the contractor and how busy they are. With that in mind, AFC strives to get an appointment scheduled within 24-48 hours after the initial service request. If the problem can’t be fixed, then the contractor may repair or replace the item with a similar system or appliance. If the cost of the repair is higher than the value of the item, then AFC will credit the homeowner the difference to go toward a new item.
